BRIDGETS
Westpoint Bridgets is the Hampshire base for Westpoint Veterinary Group Ltd. Opened in August 2008, the office is situated at Bridgets Farm, formerly known as the ADAS experimental dairy husbandry site. Westpoint Veterinary Group Ltd have taken over the Bridgets research centre - providing offices, lab, pharmacy and a meeting room.
Due to its excellent location our Bridgets branch and its four vets service farms from the New Forest to Basingstoke and beyond.

Andrew Richmond MRCVS 07850 004495 Andrew qualified from Edinburgh University in 1996. He then joined a mixed practice on the Norfolk/Suffolk border where he worked for two years. Having decided on a career working with farm animals, Andrew then moved to the New Forest, where he served the farming community in Hampshire and Dorset, and further afield for the following eleven years. His main professional interests lie in biosecurity and infectious disease control, in mastitis control and treatment, and in the importance of correct nutrition in the dairy herd. |

Roland Van Deutekom MRCVS 07912 389677 Born in Holland, studied in Gent, Belgium and graduated in 2004. He worked in mixed practice in Friesland and Noord-Holland but spent most of his time with cows rather than pets. His specialist areas are in surgery, caesarean and LDA’s. Outside work he likes to relax by walking with his dog, eating and drinking good wine. |

Nick Lyons MA VetMB MRCVS 079767 18920 Nick graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2005. During his final year he completed an externship at the food animal hospital within The Ohio State University where he carried out a research project looking at Salmonella prevalence in hospitalised cattle. Upon graduation, he went to University College Dublin to do an internship in large animal medicine, a position that was predominantly bovine but also included some equine work. After completing the internship he moved to the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) to do a residency in Dairy Cow Health and Production, a position that was split between the RVC and the Shepton Vet Group, Somerset. During this time he gained funding from the British Cattle Veterinary Association (BCVA) to do a research project on left displacement of the abomasum, a common condition affecting dairy cattle in the UK. Other research interests include uterine torsions and novel approaches to mastitis diagnosis. During the residency he spent time at the University of Wisconsin - Madison and the University of California - Davis where he gained further dairy experience on larger dairy herds. Nick started working for Westpoint in September 2009 and particularly enjoys carrying out herd health investigations in dairy and beef cattle. He is currently working towards the RCVS Certificate in Cattle Health and Production and European Diploma in Bovine Health Management. In his spare time, Nick enjoys travelling, watching/playing cricket, playing guitar and sitting in pubs. |

Tom Chamberlain BVSc PhD MRCVS 07860 966377 Tom is a Bristol University graduate and has worked for both in practice and Reading and Bristol Universities. He has a particular interest in ruminant nutrition and farm data recording and analysis. Tom is the co-author of the title 'Feeding the Dairy Cow', RUMNUT computer program and the principal tutor on the long established 'Feeding the Dairy Cow' Course. Tom is also a member of the British Veterinary Camelid Society. |
