Beef Cattle Nutrition Workshop
February 6, 2018 @ 10:30 am - 1:30 pmFree
Chapel Farm, Menthorpe Lane, North Duffield, Selby, YO8 5RL.
Tuesday 6th February 2018 | 10.30am – 1.30pm
Feeding management of beef cattle can be divided into the three main stages of rearing, growing and finishing. Each phase requires different ration specifications according to cattle type and target growth rates.
Join AHDB Beef & Lamb & Westpoint Farm Vets for this event where the different requirements of the growing and finishing stages of an animal’s life will be discussed, with the clear aim of meeting market specification and generating profit.
The event will also discuss vaccinations available for use against pneumonia. The disease is estimated to cost the UK cattle industry around £50m per year through increased mortality and reduced performance. Therefore ensuring methods are in place to prevent the disease is crucial if herd profitability is to be maintained.
The event is kindly being hosted by the Wildman family of Chapel Farm, Selby.
