Westpoint staff raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness

Farming clients at a West Sussex large animal practice were treated to a riot of pink as staff raised funds in aid of breat cancer awareness.   Last month , vets, VNs and support staff at Westpoint Veterinary Group collected more than £200 from a cake drive, culminating in Wear it Pink day on October 29, on behalf of this year's national Breast Cancer Campaign.

The 30-strong team sported pink feather boas, pink eye make-up and even pink hair, in addition to pink staff uniforms, to help raise money for the cause.

Westpoint accounts assistant Sally Closier convinced colleagues to join in the campaign. She said "Wear it Pink was a really good day. Everyone got involved and had fun -the vets, VNs and admin staff - and it was a really good team-building day too. We had everything pink we could think of. We even made pink milkshakes"

Commenting on the cake drive, she said: "We baked cakes throughout  October and we couldn't believe how much money we had raised just by baking. They went down well and were gone by 10am each day."
