Westpoint Okehampton is a modern, dedicated livestock veterinary practice providing a comprehensive range of health-orientated services to farms in and around the Okehampton area.
The practice consists of a combination of high quality experienced farm vets on the ground who have easy access to the specialist knowledge of consultants throughout the group, as well as to Biobest Laboratories for fast, accurate laboratory analysis.
At Westpoint we firmly believe that farm efficiency and profitability is driven by animal health. We aim to provide farmers with the best clinical and advisory services in order to maximise the health and productivity of their livestock.
Westpoint believe in supplying medicines at the best prices, ensuring that the price of the product does not prevent the most appropriate treatment or control programme from being adopted.
Our mobile paraprofessional team gives farmers skilled on-farm support work from foot trimming to vaccination, and we also run training courses and workshops covering key areas such as Five Point Dutch foot trimming and AI.

Following stints working in Devon, Cheshire and New Zealand Phil joined Westpoint in 2009 and now works from our St Columb practice in Cornwall. Phil’s main clinical interests are based around improving farm businesses through structured herd interventions.
He currently sits on the milk hygiene working group within Westpoint and has been integral in the introduction of the Milk4life plans. He has recently gained his Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice.
Phil’s spare time is spent with his wife Julie and two sons and if there is any time left after that he can sometimes be seen running round muddy fields playing rugby for the Newquay Hornets.
Originally from a beef and sheep farm in Cumbria, Lesley graduated from Edinburgh University in 2007 and moved to Devon to start her career in mixed practice. After 2 years she decided to focus on farm work and joined Westpoint at their Launceston practice in October 2009.
Lesley has particular interests in beef and sheep preventative and herd medicine. As part of this she has implemented Profit Improvement Plans (PIPs) for several of our beef and sheep clients to aid a more proactive approach on these farms. She is a trained DairyCo mastitis plan deliverer, working with dairy clients to reduce mastitis and cell count levels.
When she is not working Lesley enjoys playing hockey and walking on the moors with her dogs.
