Research

"Taking Research into Practice" is a key theme within Westpoint Veterinary Group (WVG), as we see delivery of cutting edge veterinary services as key to the future of livestock farming.  With our structure, and relationships across the veterinary and agricultural communities we are uniquely placed to address a wide variety of research needs, including the sourcing of animals of specific health status.

Research fits into three broad categories within the business:

Academic Research, often in collaboration with University & Research Institutions, in areas such as

  • Responsible Medicine Use
  • Production
  • Welfare

Support to the Animal Health industry

  • Registration & Marketing trials (± GCPV)
  • Production Benefit / Risk Assessments
  • Specialist Advice / Consultancy

Evidence & Research-driven veterinary practice at farm level

  • Treatment protocols developed by WVG's specialists based on published
     evidence and recognised best practice
  • Tested in practice
