Westpoint Winchester is hosting a course specifically for sheep farmers. It is designed to fulfil the Red Tractor requirement to attend a medicines course but aims to focus in particular on the commercial sheep industry by discussing topics that frequently affect both health and profitability of the flock. The course will comprise of discussions around:
The current thinking on antibiotic and wormer usage in livestock, why there is an industry led push to reduce its use and the key areas affected within the sheep industry
The areas where antibiotics are used the most in the sheep industry and the pro’s/cons of non-antibiotic methods of control
The correct and most effective way to administer medicines in sheep
Focus on watery mouth in lambs
Focus on mastitis in ewes
The cost of this course is £10 +VAT per person and all attendees will be awarded a certificate on completion.
